Quizlamp Host a quiz free
A host with a microphone in front of a packed room at a quiz night

Tonight's quiz night, on the big screen.

$6 for one night, or $15 a month if you host every week.

Questions on the pub's TV, answers on the players' phones, the controls in your hand. All in the browser, nothing to install.

Quizlamp big screen: Capital of France? with three answer tiles and a 30 second timer
The real big screen, mid-question

Three screens, one night

Host controls on a phone: the question on the big screen, the answer only the host sees, a note, and Reveal, Pause, Mute

Your controls

Start, pause and reveal from your phone. Your notes stay on your phone.

The pub's TV

The question, the timer and the scores, big enough for the back of the room.

Every player's phone

Players scan the QR code and answer in the browser, with no app and no account.

A night on paper, a night on Quizlamp

A team of friends at a pub table on a quiz night
The big screen after the reveal: the answer, the count per answer and the leading team with its score

On paper

  • Answer sheets to hand out and collect
  • Adding up scores while the room goes quiet
  • The argument about who really won

On Quizlamp

  • Answers come in on the players' phones
  • The board adds itself up after every round
  • You fix a score with a reason everyone can see

The quiz keeps moving

Timers run the night

Turn on auto-advance and the quiz moves on by itself. Pause with one tap and pick up where you stopped.

Host marking typed answers: each distinct answer once with its count, Right and Wrong buttons, then Confirm

Mark typed answers in one tap

The same answers are grouped, so you tap once per group, and no score shows until you confirm.

Your rounds, your rules

Picture answers

Put a picture on any question, or use pictures as the answer options.

Points per question

Set the points for each question, with minus points for a wrong answer if you want them.

A note only you can see

Add a note to any question. It shows on your phone, never on the big screen.

A slide between rounds

Show a short text slide between rounds, like a drinks break.

Do players need an app?

No. Players scan the QR code or type the short code, and answer in their phone's browser. They need no account.

What does the pass include, and when does it end?

Every Host feature for one quiz, up to 100 devices. It ends 48 hours after you buy it or after one live session, whichever comes first, and it never renews.

What happens when more than 25 phones join on Free?

The 26th device is told the room is full. You can buy a pass for the night and let everyone in.

Quizlamp is made for the pub, and Free lets 25 devices play, not 10.
